The photographs on this website were taken by Will & Matt Burrard-Lucas.
These photographs are from three separate trips to the Pantanal in Brazil. On each trip we visited a different area of the Pantanal in order to photograph a cross section of the region’s wildlife.
The Pantanal is a wildlife photographer’s dream because it is possible to photograph many unique South American animals that are almost impossible to see elsewhere. For example, you have a realistic chance of finding giant anteaters and jaguars, both of which are almost impossible to see in the thick rainforests that cover most of the continent.
One of the things we like most about the Pantanal is that it is possible to explore on your own, without a guide. As a result we have been able to spend a lot of time working on specific projects. We particularly enjoy taking photographs at night and one of our projects involved photographing caimans by starlight and moonlight!
We have still only photographed a fraction of the wildlife that the Pantanal has to offer and we can’t wait to return to expand our portfolio.
